Mimi is the absolute best! She is SO meticulous about shaping. I’ve gotten acrylic nails every time I’ve seen her & every time I’m so impressed. She takes her time but it’s 100% worth it in my opinion, I rather spend an extra 30 minutes while she files away than to get out sooner but feel irritated when I notice little imperfections after I leave (like I have with every single nail tech I’ve ever had before Mimi). I am a florist so my hands are pretty much wet all the time and the nails stay on every single time, whereas in the past literally every single time at least one nail would fall off before it was time to get them filled 😩. Not an issue with Mimi!! As for the shop, it’s in a very convenient location in the fairwood shopping center, parking is never an issue. It’s a large shop, clean and spread out so you’re not on top of the next person getting their nails done. 10/10 would recommend.
My godmother had an appointment scheduled today for her birthday week. She gets there, is told to wait, she waits for over thirty minutes despite having an appointment. The receptionists were fine and all, very courteous and nice to help pick a color but why aren’t the nail techs on time?
Management at this location needs to actually honor appointments. We even got called ten minutes before our appointment was scheduled to confirm! What the hell?!
I went in to have them remove an acrylic set and do a gel manicure. The front desk was great and I was able make a same-day appointment. The service, however, was less than positive.
The technician did not remove all of the acrylic before moving on to the manicure, cut me TWICE during the service, and my nail shape was uneven. After the second time she cut me, which was pretty deep and bleeding, she told me that the only reason I was cut is because I jumped – I only jumped because I was cut! There was no apology, or stopping to service to see if I was okay.
After the shaping, I also pointed out that several of my nails were not squared evenly, and that when I could hold them up, you could see they were slanted. She told me that my fingers were shaped crooked, and that’s how it would look. I’ve been getting my nails done for over 10 years and never had an issue.
Maybe a different technician would’ve been a better experience, but I won’t be back after this.
Not sure why she tried to rush my pedicure, but Mimi acted out of character. When I pointed it to her, instead of offering to fix it, she was defensive. My callous treatment was a disappointment. Hopefully, next time will be a better experience.
Quyen has been my nail technician for over 10 years. After all of this time…she’s never rushed her way through my services, which truly makes it a calming and relaxing experience.
I’m a nurse, so my nails have to stay short. She’s always respected that I can’t have claws (although in another lifetime, I wouldn’t mind them at all…lol). 🙃
